Searching for the best tile fixer in Pakistan can bring up companies, directories and individual installers. A search result alone cannot tell you whether an installer is right for your home. This guide gives you six practical checks to compare their process, project evidence and written quote.
ArcheTiles installs tiles in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. We are not a neutral reviewer, so use the same questions on us and on any other installer you consider. Confirm current availability and project coverage for your location before booking.
What "best" actually means for a tile fixer
There is no single independent ranking that establishes the best tile fixer for every project in Pakistan. For your home, compare installers by relevant completed work, a suitable fixing plan, a clear written scope, and how they handle preparation and handover. The right choice depends on your tile, site and location.
The installation method should suit the tile format, substrate and manufacturer instructions. Ask how the installer checks the surface, selects adhesive and plans handling and cuts for your particular tile. Large-format porcelain may need more careful substrate preparation and handling than smaller tiles; the installer should explain the method proposed for your job.
So the first job is not to find the best fixer in general. It is to find the fixer who is best at your tile.
The six questions
Ask every fixer you are considering these six questions, in this order. The answers sort them fast.
1. "How will you level the floor before tiling?"
Ask how the installer checks the floor and what happens if it is uneven. A laser or straightedge can help assess the surface; grinding or a levelling product may be appropriate depending on the measured condition and the installation system. The quote should state whether this preparation is included.
2. "Do you spread adhesive on the back of the tile as well as the floor?"
This is called back-buttering. Ask whether the tile and substrate both receive adhesive when the selected tile and fixing system require it. The adhesive should be suitable for the tile, substrate and location, and applied according to its manufacturer’s instructions. Our note on tile bond versus cement explains the considerations.
3. "Do you use levelling clips on every joint?"
Levelling clips can help align neighbouring tile edges during installation, especially with some large-format tiles. Ask whether they are suitable for your chosen tile and joint, and how the installer will check alignment. Clips are one part of the process; they do not replace a properly prepared substrate or correct adhesive application.
4. "How do you waterproof a bathroom, and do you flood-test it?"
Ask what waterproofing is included, which wet-area surfaces it covers, how corners and pipe penetrations are treated, and what test is specified by the chosen system. The installer should explain the method and any curing or testing period before tile work starts. Our bathroom tile fixing page describes ArcheTiles’ stated process.
5. "What warranty do you put in writing?"
A verbal promise ends at the final payment. Ask what is covered — adhesion, joints, levelling, waterproofing — and for how long, and ask for it on paper before the job starts. ArcheTiles gives a written workmanship warranty and three months of free maintenance after handover on completed jobs; whoever you hire should be able to tell you their equivalent.
6. "Can I see a job you are doing right now?"
Photos of finished work can help you assess results; progress photos or a site visit, if the client permits, may help you understand the process. Respect privacy and site-safety rules. Our project pages show available photos and videos; contact us to ask what work can be viewed.
The seventh check: the quote
A written quote makes it easier to compare installers. Ask it to list:
- the measured area of each room, not a figure you gave by phone;
- the tile size and type the rate applies to;
- what is included (fixing, layout, clips; whether adhesive, grout and skirting are in);
- what is excluded, as separate lines with prices — levelling compound, waterproofing membrane, epoxy grout, removing old tiles;
- the warranty and what it covers;
- payment stages tied to things you can see finished.
If two fixers' rates differ a lot, it is usually because one has left items 3 and 4 out. Our guide to tile fixing rates goes through this in more detail.
Checks by city
The six questions are the same everywhere; what goes wrong most often is not.
Islamabad. If your project uses large-format porcelain or is still under construction, ask how rooms will be sequenced and finished surfaces protected while other trades work. See our tile fixing service in Islamabad.
Rawalpindi. Compare the installer’s plan for substrate preparation, adhesive coverage and the tile format you have selected. See our tile fixing service in Rawalpindi.
Lahore. For large porcelain slabs, ask how the crew will transport, lift and position them safely, and request examples of comparable completed work. See our tile fixing service in Lahore.
Karachi. For bathroom work, ask what waterproofing and testing the quote includes, and how the installer will handle the drain, corners and pipe penetrations. See our tile fixing service in Karachi.
Multan and other cities. We travel for large-format work on request, and the same six questions apply to any local fixer you are comparing us with.
Before you pay: the ten-minute inspection
At handover, review the finished work against the agreed scope and ask the installer to address any concerns before final sign-off:
- Check the layout and finish under normal room lighting. Compare joint lines, edges and cuts with the agreed design.
- Inspect corners, drains and transitions with the installer, especially in bathrooms and other wet areas.
- Ask for the care and maintenance instructions for your specific tile, grout and sealants.
- Review any agreed test records or product documentation that form part of the written scope.
- Record outstanding items in writing with a clear plan for completion before closing the job.
Our tile repair page explains the repair service, and our pre-payment checklist provides more questions to discuss before hiring.
How ArcheTiles answers the six questions
Since we have asked you to test everyone, here is our own answer sheet. Floors are checked with a laser and a 2-metre straightedge and levelled before tiling. Adhesive goes on the floor and on the tile back, and each tile is beaten or vibrated in. Every joint on large-format tile gets a levelling clip. Bathrooms get a two-coat membrane with taped junctions, a 24-hour flood test and epoxy grout in the shower. Every completed job gets a written workmanship warranty and three months of free maintenance. And our current jobs are listed, with photos, on each city page.
If you want to put those questions to us directly, message us on WhatsApp with your city and tile size, or book a site survey. If you are comparing us with someone else, take this page with you.
